Memory manufacturers have been shifting production capacity toward DDR5 and away from DDR4, which means the supply of new DDR4 is shrinking even as some servers and platforms still depend on it. That combination — falling new supply, ongoing demand — is exactly the setup that makes used DDR4 worth sourcing right now instead of writing off as outdated.
We buy both server and desktop DDR4, but they're priced differently. Registered/ECC server DDR4 (RDIMM, LRDIMM) generally commands a stronger price than unbuffered desktop DDR4, since it can't be swapped in from consumer supply. 16GB DDR4-3200 RDIMM is one of the most commonly traded modules we quote — along with 32GB and 64GB DDR4-3200.
